Legislative update from Pat

The Adult Education Bill requesting a $10 million increase in revenue has been introduced into both the House and Senate.   The following are the numbers of the bills in each legislative body:

There will be a rally at the capitol on Tuesday, February 19th.   It will include Classes that speak to how the legislative process works and how to speak to your elected officials, a rally in the rotunda at noon, and then visits have been scheduled with legislators for instructors and students.
 

Mohamed Ahmed from Marshall will speak during the rally at the rotunda.   Vickie Radloff and 3 students will also be participating in this event.

I am very pleased with SW ABE  representation at this event as I believe it is very important that these elected officials need to understand the need for ABE/ESL does not exist only in the metro area.
 

Mohamed also may be testifying in front of the House committee hearing this bill later in the week. 

Turkey Valley, his employer, has graciously supported his wages each time he is participating in these events.
